Elizabeth and jo went on an adventure to the One Fine Day wedding fair in Sydney on Saturday.
We went really with an open mind to see if we could pick up on any wedding trends for our designs and generally get the feel for the direction for styling that that the wedding industry is taking. (and for a glass of bubbles and some cake tasting too!)
Of course flowers are a big deal for weddings and flowers on stationery is no different.
We loved the digital designs from one stand where the season of the wedding corresponded with the floral arrangements on the stationery.
It is great to see that the chintz and delicate prettiness of floral design is well past and we are into funky arrangements and deconstructed designs for printing.
These ever popular forms of wedding signage are still loud and proud and made an impact at the fair. We love the simplicity of this as a wedding feature.
Of course the letterpress stands were very popular with their beautiful and classic choice of stationery. We were a little blown away at the cost ($3330 for a custom designed wedding stationery suite!) but we know some brides find the look and feel of letterpress printing hard to pass up!
From the Fantastic quality digital photo albums displayed by some of the outstanding photographers to the simple foiling on the flyers for wedding gown designers we were in stock heaven! It was great to see the creative use of some paper stocks that we are familiar with. Photo of menu with stock that has a tear off edge to give a rustic unfinished look.
