So Cassi, tell us a bit about yourself
I am a Graphic designer and photographer. My strength is experimenting with typography and exciting colour palettes although I have designed many different styles of wedding invites depending on the brief from the bride!
How did you get started doing Wedding invitations?
After graduating University I dived straight into the world of corporate design. Later a friend of mine was getting married and asked me to design her wedding Stationery. After that I became obsessed with all things wedding printing. From paper, to fonts to finishes. I just really enjoy the creative freedom that wedding Stationery allows.
Have you spotted any recent trends in Wedding Stationery?
Foiling is super popular at the moment. I recently designed the Sydney wedding Printing Business cards with a very dark floral background and a gorgeous rose gold foil, its Bang on trend.
I also love the letterpress look but find digital printing to offer a wider range for colours and finishes which gives me as a designer much more variety with my designs.
What do we need to know about choosing the design for our wedding stationery?
Go with what you love. There are so many design examples out there that it is easy to feel lost and overwhelmed but the main thing is to include your own individual quirks that make your Stationery personal to you. Most of all have some fun.
Any other tips?
Don’t be shy to come in and have a chat with me or the team to work out what you really want and have a look at some examples. We love to talk about design face to face.
